Intact, the world’s leading provider of software solutions for the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, is looking for an AI Engineer to join our global team. With our products, we help ensure that organic really is organic, food is safe, fisheries are sustainable, and buildings don’t go up in flames.
We are building the next generation of AI-powered tools for the audit industry. Our flagship product, „Intact AI“, is an intelligent assistant that supports auditors in preparing audits, analyzing complex documentation, and working more efficiently. This is only the beginningour vision is to build intelligent agents for every role in the audit ecosystem.
You’ll take on a hands-on engineering role for production-grade AI systems: you build, debug, and own everything that goes live. Depending on your experience, you start with the level of ownership that fits you from immediate responsibility for Senior Engineers to a clear, structured growth path for Mid-Level Engineers. You will quickly become the owner of key components of Intact AI, ramp up efficiently, and actively shape architecture, quality, and operations.
Your tasks
- Build & Ship: You develop features, improvements, and bug fixes for Intact AI (production) and reliably ship them live.
- Agentic workflows: You orchestrate agent workflows (tool use/function calling), ensure structured outputs, and implement validation.
- RAG & integrations: You build and improve RAG pipelines (chunking/embeddings/retrieval/re-ranking), integrate APIs, and develop user-facing features.
- Quality & operations: You define evals/regression tests, monitor quality/latency/cost, and continuously optimize the systems.
- Incident ownership: You analyze production issues, fix them sustainably, and prevent recurrence.
Your profile
- You bring 4+ years of software engineering experience (production applications).
- You have hands-on experience with LLM applications in production (operations/maintenance).
- You know RAG in practice (chunking, embeddings, retrieval, re-ranking).
- You have experience with agentic systems (orchestration, tool use/function calling) and structured outputs (schemas/validation).
- You are strong in Python; Azure know-how is a plus.
- You take ownership and debug confidently across multiple components.
- You communicate clearly, document pragmatically, and enjoy working in a team (tech & product).
- You think analytically, approach ambiguous problems in a structured way, and find fast, clean solutions.
- You are proactive, set priorities wisely, and deliver reliably.
- Excellent English skills are required; German skills are a plus.
