The position is based in the newly established „Computer Science Education Group“ (CSEG) within the Chair of „Didactics of Computer Science“, headed by Mag. Dr.techn. Bernhard Standl, as part of the EDEN research group at the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna. The research focuses on the empirical investigation of teaching and learning processes in computer science education related to computational concepts and ways of thinking, particularly computational thinking, algorithms and modeling, programming, data and data-driven systems, as well as AI literacy in school and university contexts. A central component is the Computer Science Teaching and Learning Lab. There, computer science education teaching-learning designs are developed, tested, empirically investigated and refined in collaboration with students, teachers and schools. The postdoctoral position is designed as a research-intensive career-building role and offers the opportunity to further develop an independent research profile in computer science education, contribute to the design of externally funded projects and actively help build the research group.
